Cotswold Industries, New York, introduces Press & Tear, a needle-friendly, pressure-sensitive, adhesive tearaway stabilizer.
It allows users to embroider hard-to-hoop items with hardly any residue on their needles, according to the company. It can be used for jobs like CD cases, heavy towels, blankets, collars and cuffs, socks or heavy jackets.
It also can be used for tiny items like baby socks. Users can hoop the stabilizer, not the sock, and then place the stabilizer in the hoop, release the paper backing, and lay and smooth out the baby sock. By pinning back the additional sock area, users have a smooth surface ready to embroider, according to the company.
The 1.5-ounce, wet-laid, non-directional, non-woven tearaway stabilizer contains needle lubricants to promote needle glide and reduce sticky buildup. It tears away cleanly and easily leaving no “fuzzies” behind, according to the company.
